Just a huge thank you! This was a great “tag team” approach . . . Absolutely met my expectations! I liked the variety of meditation practices and clear instructions.
Day of Mindfulness: Meditation & Writing Retreats
Day of Mindfulness: Meditation & Writing Retreats are free, day-long retreats, open to women who are veterans, active duty, reservists, or women military family members/partners. Writing is private, free form, and intended to allow presence with, expression of, and curiosity about thoughts and feelings that arise during meditation. The goal is to support the use of meditation and writing as tools for personal healing and growth, both alone or in the presence of others.
Facility great. Retreat format casual and good.
The retreats are co-lead by Mitra Bishop, Roshi, Mountain Gate, family member, and Caroline LeBlanc, MFA, veteran, family member, writer, and owner of Wilderness Heart Workshops/Writing For Your Life.
What Happens during retreats?
Retreats begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. Participants spend the day in silence. The schedule involves alternating periods of group meditation and individual writing. Several different types of mindfulness meditation are taught throughout the day. A light lunch is served midday, and snacks are available as well. Reservations are Required.
I came with few expectations. I was looking for a space to explore my inner experience and I found it here.
